Umm... I wasn't going to bring this up, but DID SOMEBODY LOSE A FRIGGIN' FOX? 'Cause there's one wandering around in the yard here at Blognut Manor and I think this is NOT meant to be a domestic pet. In fact, I think this is meant to be a scary, outdoor, nature beast. I mean, I dunno, really, but I've never actually heard that foxes(?), But, I was curious, so I asked if he would wait while I ran to get my camera and he was kind enough to give me a wink and take a seat on the driveway until I returned.
And then I figured since he was being all cooperative-like, he might be a nice fox and I should rethink the whole, Do foxes make good pets? question. He seemed kinda huggable at that point, you know? I thought about letting my dogs out to interview him in hopes we'd all agree that Mr. Fox could move right in to Blognut Manor with us...

...but it was not to be. You know why? 'Cause the little demon dropped the cute 'n cuddly act and started looking at me like I was some sort of fuzzy, blue steak. No, no, Mr. Fox, we mustn't eat blognuts. Blognuts are NOT fox chow.

i think he's asking if he could just have a little nibble
Okay, I love symbolism stuff: FOX
But the real question burning in my soul is this: What's the white stuff all over the ground in your photos? It looks like frosting. How'd you get so much frosting all over the place?
JST - No. No he cannot have just a little nibble. Not even a lick.
CHERI, my dear California princess, that would be snow. Do not let your sugar-starved brain convince you that is frosting, or cool whip, or any other sugary substance. It's snow.
Poor thing must be hungry. All these wild animals are losing their habitats and food supply.
looks evil stay away!
And then you went out and gave Mr Fox a cuddle. Right?
You must look very tasty - is it just be or does the fox look kind of cute?
Kitty x
great pics. we used to have a fox visit occassionally. we never lost any kids.
We have a resident fox in our area, as well. We are destroying their habitat and one may need to bunk with you for a night.
He's a pretty one. We don't have foxes on Martha's Vineyard (cuz they can't swim 7 miles to get here). So when we wer in NH on vacation after Christmas, one ran across the road as we were driving, and we all got so excited. Pathetic.
Oops, sorry, that's mine. His name is Ralph.
He's one scary little beast!
I like the white stuff on the ground! It's PURDY! It would be nice if it were frosting, though. I like to eat frosting -- right out of the can!
Oh he's beautiful!
(PS: Do not let the dogs out. That would fall into the category of "Mistake #1.")
I think foxes are freaking the hell out right about now! Or something; they're on at least 4 other blogs I've read this past week and they all seem to be posing for the camera. Maybe they're all going to watch Fantastic Mr Fox at the cinema?! haha
Hmmm, that last photo explains why he sat in your driveway contemplating....eating you for lunch? Good thing you told him no. I love your posts too much to give them up because you ended up foxchow.
Hey, bring my fox back to Mulletville!
SUZY, I agree. However, this little bugger's natural habitat is the forest preserve right behind our houses. We normally only see him on garbage day.
FRAU, he did have an evil twinkle in his eye once he decided I was his lunch.
MO, um... no.
KITTY, I DO look tasty!
BRIAN, we haven't lost any kids either. I have heard some people say they've lost small pets, though. I honestly don't blame the fox for that, I think it's more likely his friend the coyote that eats the pets.
LISA, I'll put a fox bed on my front porch for him, he's staying outside.
MAUREEN, you should totally come get this one, then.
CATE, I KNEW it was your fox!
SHE, he's beautiful though, isn't he?
AMY, I kinda figured.
TONI, we're being invaded!
LORNA, I know!!! I almost fell for it, too!
FROGS, you're going to have to fight Cate for him.
Did you give him something to nibble on? Besides Blognuts, I mean.
He's a cutie!
How beautiful!!! But I don't think I would want him in my yard!!!
Wow - he sure is a pretty creature, but I agree that he should probably remain outdoors.
