I Want My Cake and My Ice Cream Too

Forgive me for the random bitching, but why should today be different from any other? Also? I promised to be either charming or quiet today in real life, so I have to use my blog as an outlet or I will very likely explode because blognuts are not meant to contain their complaints.

Grab a chair and hang onto your hooters! Complaints? I haz a big one.

I’ve been taking a lot of long walks because I’m doing the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event in August. Just for shits and giggles, I decided to hop onto the Weight Watcher’s website and see how many activity points I would get for these long walks if I were the point-counting sort of person… which I’m not… because DAMN, those things depress me.

Here I was thinking that I was working my fuzzy, blue behind off on these long walks only to find out that I burn off, like, nothing. You’d think that a six or eight-mile walk would at least earn you enough points to negate a nice piece of cake, wouldn’t you? Or a Pop-Tart? Or even a handful of Peanut Butter M&Ms?

You know what I get to eat after an eight-mile walk if I’m not already vomiting from dehydration? An apple. Who in the hell wants to eat an apple?

So… who do I see to get that whole points calculating thing tweaked a bit? ‘Cause if you ask me, we need to adjust the math so more people are encouraged to participate in all this healthy exercise crap with the promise of a reward worth having at the end of the day.

Why? Because I want a mint-chocolate chip hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and a cherry on top. (The cherry is just for pretty. I don’t eat those things because they taste like cough syrup.)

And if I can’t have my way, I have another plan. I am going to eat as much as I can humanly hold, gain 100 lbs, and then go have my stomach stapled or something.

I usually skip the cherry on the sundae to save the calories.

I think you have to call the Duchess of York to get the WW points adjusted, but she might be on Exile Island right now.

By the way, what's an Apple? Apples are edible things? I thought that's the website where I go to NOT get a new iPhone 4G boyfriend because every Tom, Dick, and Harry is trying to buy one this morning, too.

Apple Smapple. Celery is where the money is. Eating celery is actually burning negative calories! It's more work for your body to chew and digest it than it has inside of it. So maybe if you eat 30lbs of celery you can have the cake?

LOL @ 30lbs of celery

Screw it. Just eat the cake. (You might not want to listen to me. I just recommitted to Weight Watchers. Stupid points.)

POINT well taken.

I think you should totally have celery... you could use it as a spoon to eat the ice cream sundae with! Healthy by osmosis, and all that.

An apple? Not a sack of apples? That is scary!

Maybe you're supposed to walk really really fast?

???? Apple ???? Well that sucks!!! I take a brisk walk everyday...two miles!! And my calorie thingy says that I have burned 528 calories!! That is definitely more than an apple!! Screw weight watchers. Have that sundae every once in awhile. It can't hurt ya!!

I like the way you think! P.S.--when you come to visit this summer, I live just a FEW short blocks (not city blocks, either) from the DAIRY QUEEN! The treats on me, dearest.

Weight Watchers must have amped up the severity since 2004 when I was on it. My 2 mile a day vigorous up-and-down-hill walk allowed me to sip a 2 oz glass of white wine each evening.

I forget howmany ppoints that is - its much better than an apple, tho.

When stomach stapling is an option I figure it's better to stuff the walks and eat the ice cream!!!

I think healthy trade-offs are in order. Like, I walk for two miles (give or take a mile) and I reward myself with a healthy Cinnabon, which won't count at all on my hips because I, after all, walked two miles (give or take a mile). This is healthy trading, and it makes me mentally more stable. Win/win!

WTF WW? And people pay for that abuse? Regardless of the points trade off, congrats on walking for a wonderful cause.

An apple?? What's appealing about an apple?? Congrats on your walking--you deserve a sundae.

Are you sure "pie" wasn't at the end of "apple?"

Totally honest mistake if so.

I do it all the time.

All the very best to you, sweet Bloggus Nuttus, I hope it's all going fabulously, and I miss you blogging, but know it's because you're probably walking, and not eating that sundae - Maybe you can have it when you've completed this fantastic walk that you're doing?

I am so proud of you, how beautiful you are, what you achieve every day, and your cussyness! Love you, have great and good luck! Fhi xxx
